Ingredients
For the sumac vodka
10 g sumac,
plus extra to garnish
For the drink
25 ml
sumac-infused vodka (see above and method)
15 ml Velvet Falernum liqueur
Freshly ground black pepper, to season
20 ml pomegranate juice
20 ml fresh lime juice
Directions
1. First make the infusion. Pour
the vodka into a small clean jar, add the sumac, then seal and leave to infuse
for 10 hours. Strain through a cloth or coffee filter into a second clean jar.
2. To make the drink, put
everything in a shaker filled with ice, shake hard for five or six seconds,
then double strain into a martini glass. Sprinkle a small pinch of sumac over
the top and serve.
